Loretta Harper Receives National HR Recognition

The U vice president for human resources received the National Recognition for Excellence in Human Resources award for her service to colleges and universities. Loretta Harper received the recognition last month at the association’s national conference in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, for improving the quality of programs and services through effective human resource administration practices.

The Chronicle’s View: Hats Off to Latino Recruiters

On Thursday, Movimiento Estudiantil Chicana/o de Aztlan, a Latino student organization, invited more than 300 Latino high schoolers to learn about higher education and its benefits. U students have much to learn from M.E.Ch.A’s example. The event, which has been taking place annually for eight years, is a great opportunity to reach out to a minority group that has historically been under-represented in universities.
